Ms. Tina Moore volunteered to attend Parent University Sessions at EAA’s, Fitzgerald-Bethune School and also has four (4) children that ALL attend the school as well.  Tina is a persistent parent that places her children first and also seems to volunteer for whatever involves her children.  One of the reasons Tina was approached about Parent University is because our ULS Staff often saw her at various times throughout the day as she visited for discipline issues of her children.

Once we completed our first parent university session, Tina began to volunteer more and has reached out on occasions to ULS for exterior services as well. Coupled with attempting to manage the discipline issues she faced with her four (4) children, we learned early on that Tina was unfortunately evicted from her home, lost her job and car as well.  Without hesitation, ULS was able to troubleshoot many of her problems by solidifying a few interviews, which led to Tina regaining employment, providing her with the resources to own her own vehicle and providing her with many tools and skills to help better communicate with her children.

The relationship built with Tina and her children has assisted in re-directing the education of her children in a good way and gave Tina the enhancement she needed as a single mom.  Tina shared with me that her life, livelihood and family structure has been strengthened due to the Parent University sessions and the constant interaction with the Bethune School staff and beyond.
